In the 1900’s the monkey was born
A corner of Ireland from his family torn
He was raised with a criminal mind
He liked to fight every goddamn night
One day a boxer took him under his wing
Taught him to fight and the discipline
But that lil hairy monkey was too wild
He killed a man in a bare knuckle bout
That crazy lil monkey

He fled on a boat to the USA
To Hollywood where he caught fame
Working with the greats like ol’ Hal Roach
He starred in a few ol’ classic shorts
But that fame didn’t last, he ran for his life
When a big film producer caught him fucking his wife
Now the life of a bum the monkey felt grim
He lived down the alley by a boxing gym.
